Compounds Australia

National compound management and logistics facility supporting drug discovery. Provides cost-effective access to industry-standard compound storage, liquid handling, and sample processing capabilities. Core services and capabilities include: (1) Open-access compound libraries, (2) Automated, environmentally-controlled sample storage (open- and closed- access supported), (3) Generation of assay-ready plates to support hit/lead screening.

Queensland Microtechnology Facility

Purpose-built cleanroom facility and member of the NCRIS Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) network, providing affordable and unique integration of research flexibility and processing at semiconductor-industry standards.

Griffith Analytical Facility

Hosting an array of research-level analytical instruments coupled with world-class laboratory space enabling us to provide high quality analytical and scientific services.

Environmental Research Facility

The Environmental Research Facility (ERF) provides internal and external clients with access to class leading environmental analysis, equipment and services.

DNA Sequencing Facility

NATA accredited facility providing high-quality Sanger sequencing, Fragement Analysis, Illumina MiSeq, and Human Cell Authentication services to industry and academia. The facility also works in close collaboration with the Griffith Spatial Genomics Facility.

Spatial Genomics Facility

Equipped with cutting-edge Nanostring technology that allows high-content expression analysis of cells in their spatial tissue environment. The facility also works in close collaboration with the Griffith DNA Sequencing Facility.

Clinical Trial Unit

The CTU is located within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct and adjacent to the Gold Coast University Hospital. The Unit supports staff and collaborators to conduct translational research and provides professional clinical trial site services to commercial clients such as global pharma and the biosciences and nutraceutical industries.

Health Imaging

High end instruments to support health and medical research, spanning scanning electron, super-resolution, widefield, live-cell, histology, and whole body imaging.

Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics Facilities (Gold Coast)

The Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics (IBG) boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, equipment, services and resources to support biomedical research at the Gold Coast campus, spanning Spatial Genomics, Advanced Mass Spectrometry, NMR, Flow Cytometry, Separations, Bio-Analytical, Crystallography, Sample and Compound Banks.

Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics Facilities (Nathan)

The Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics (IBG) boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, equipment, services and resources to support biomedical research at the Nathan campus, spanning Advanced Mass Spectrometry, NMR, Compound Management and Logistics, and NatureBank.

Social Analytics Laboratory

The Social Analytics Lab (SAL) is a state-of-the-art facility that provides infrastructure for storing, managing, and analysing sensitive administrative data. It supports cutting-edge research through advanced computational resources, enabling complex data analysis and fostering collaborations among researchers, both locally and internationally.

Relational Insights Data Lab

As a specialised data science lab, the Rational Insights Data Lab (RIDL) is dedicated to solving complex problems and bridging the data skills gap. The team is committed to turning data into actionable insights to enable community organisations, local government departments, academics, and SMEs to make better informed decisions.

High Containment Facility

Purpose-built and expertly managed PC3 and BC3 Microbiology and Animal laboratories for research and storage of Risk Group 3 organisms.

Bioscience Resources Facility

The animal facilities are well equipped with modern animal containment systems and are legislated for research activities. Modern facilities includes housing for rodents at PC2/PC3 and biosecurity levels of containment, and Zebrafish at PC2 containment.

Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO)

ANSTO uses nuclear science and technology to deliver real-world benefits to Australia through excellence in research, supporting access to nuclear technologies to improve health, providing expert advice to Government and leading the development of a nuclear workforce.

ANSTO Synchrotron

The Australian Synchrotron has a suite of X-ray and infrared beamlines with applications in health, medical, food, environment, mining, advanced materials, agriculture and cultural heritage.

National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS)

The Australian Government provides funding to help ensure all researchers have access to cutting-edge national research infrastructure that will enable world-class research, through the NCRIS program.  NCRIS funds a diverse range of highly collaborative facilities, equipment, resources and experts nation wide, providing open access to users ranging from HDR students and early career researchers, through to small businesses.  Griffith researchers are encouraged to explore the diverse organisations and facilities that belong to this network.

Griffith University is proud to host the Compounds Australia Therapeutic Innovations Australia node and the Queensland Microtechnology Facility Australian National Fabrication Facility node.

Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF)

The Australian national Fabrication Facility (ANFF) provides open access to micro and nanofabrication equipment, essential to Australia’s scientific and economic future. It was established under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

Griffith University is proud to host the Queensland Microtechnology Facility ANFF node.

Therapeutic Innovations Australia (TIA)

Therapeutic Innovations Australia (TIA) provides access to research infrastructure that enable seamless access to expertise and services vital to translate research discoveries into human health impacts. The TIA consortium is enabled by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

Griffith University is proud to host the Compounds Australia TIA node.


Griffith University is a member of the Research Infrastructure Alliance Queensland (RIQA). Member Institutions work collaboratively to coordinate major research infrastructure provision, funding and access across the state.

Griffith University is a signatory of the RIQA MOU, which allows our researchers to access a range of specialist research infrastructure facilities, equipment and services at other participating institutions.
